How many kendamas actually come out? We track the brand and retailer shops we list, so here is the answer, updated with every catalog refresh. As of 2026-11-01: 1219 distinct models released in the last 12 months, 5814 products tracked, 705 in stock right now.

How we count

A drop is a distinct model. Each colorway counts separately, but pack sizes, ken-only and tama-only formats, and wood options of the same design collapse into one. Models are attributed to the maker, not the store reselling them. A model is dated by the store's publish date, or by the day we first saw it if that is earlier: a store that republishes an old listing resets its publish date, and that should not count as a new drop. Tracking began on Dec 13, 2025, so a listing that was already up that day counts from that day. The brand pages count drops the same way. Models are counted the same way as in our monthly recaps, like the first-half 2026 review (452 models from 26 makers) and the June 2026 recap.
