JAC KENDAMA

JAC KENDAMA is a small Tokyo brand run by WHIRLWIND Co., Ltd., with kendama shaped in the Fukuyama and Fuchu area of Hiroshima Prefecture, a region long known for its woodworking craftsmanship. The brand takes its motif from the fukura suzume, a puffed sparrow that is a traditional Japanese symbol of happiness, and favors clean unpainted wood over heavy paint. Production runs in small limited batches, including an upcycling line that turns maple reclaimed from cut-up Mizuno baseball bats into complete kendama.
